Who can enter?

Competitors must be 18 years or over on the day of competition to be eligible.

Each of the Export Gold Xtreme ski comp and Relentless Snowboard Challenge have a limit of up to 50 athletes. Athletes must be present at the competitor briefing on each day of the event to be able to compete.

Bibs

Bibs wil be handed out at the opening party at Turoa Lodge on Monday 8th September. They will be handed out randomly and will not indicate start order.

Bibs must be worn at all times during competition, course inspection and around the venue. Competitors with bibs clearly visible will receive queue privilieges on relevant lifts during course inspection and competition. We expect that competitors be polite and courteous to Mt Ruapehu staff and customers when using this privilege.

Helmets

Helmets are compulsory for all competitors.

Where to stay

We recommend that those with their own transport stay in Ohakune as all prizegivings and afterparties throughout the competition will be held at Turoa Lodge in Ohakune.

Those who do not have their own transport should stay in National Park. Competitors can use RAL staff transport to get to Whakapapa Ski Area from National Park on each day of competition for just $5. If the contingency venue is used transport will be arranged from National Park. Transport will also be available from National Park to Ohakune for the afterparties and prizegivings for $5.

Transport to afterparties

There will be a bus from Whakapapa Ski Area, stopping in Whakapapa Village and National Park to and from the afterparties in Ohakune. Buses are $5 per person payable on the day.

Buses are scheduled to leave Whakapapa at 6pm and Ohakune at 9:30pm each night. this schedule is flexible and any changes will be announced at the daily competitor briefings.

Contingencies

Where possible the event will be run according to the event schedule. However, if conditions on any day do not allow for the safe and fair running of the event at the primary venue, the contingency venue of The Fingers at Turoa will be used. If the Turoa venue is also not suitable the event will be postponed and a contingency day used.

Communication

All competitors that enter a NZ mobile phone number on their registration form will receive a text message update if a contingency venue or day is being used or if the timetable for the day is changed. Competitors who do not have access to a NZ mobile phone should check the morning snow report on each day of competition for information.

K2 Skis & Snowboards Big Air

Just two days before the Export Gold Xtreme, on 6 September, is the Moro Freestyle Series K2 Skis & Snowboards Big Air at Turoa. If you're planning on getting to the area early this could be a great event to enter on top of the Xtreme.
