Become a Patroller

If you are a skier or snowboarder and are serious about a career in one of the most rewarding positions on the ski field, this course is for you.  Run in partnership by the Sir Edmund Hillary Outdoor Pursuits Centre (OPC) and RAL you will learn the skills required to work on patrol anywhere in the world.  The course includes a Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Certificate, Mountain Safety Council Avalanche Stage 1, a recognised Explosive Handling course as well as development of mountain craft skills and emergency response techniques.  The course contains work experience with RAL and will be mainly taught on the mountain.  Graduate pathways exist to employment with RAL and at international ski fields.
