Half price skiing at Kicking Horse Resort during the 2008/2009 northern winter
Former Mt Ruapehu Marketing Coordinator Tim Wilkinson is now working at Kicking Horse and is keen for Kiwis to come ski at his ‘new’ mountain. He reckons there are some similarities between both mountains, especially if you are an experienced rider. Enjoy the Pinnacles at Whakapapa? Well check out any of the 70 inbound chutes off of CPR or Redemption Ridges! This was formerly heli-skiing terrain. Around 60% of the ski area is deemed Advanced/Expert…… but fear not, if you like to cruise the groomers like Gollum or Why Not then there’s some great runs for you at Kicking Horse.
The resort currently boasts the 2nd longest vertical in Canada…. 1,260m to be exact. To give you an idea on how far that is, it’s like skiing from the top of the Far West T-Bar all the way down to the Grand Chateau!! And of course there’s the light, dry powder that British Columbia is known for.

Free skiing at Copper Mountain Resort from 3 January to 13 February 2009
2008 Season, Five-Season, Life/Life Plus and Ultimate Pass holders will receive free lifts passes at Copper Mountain Resort during the 2009 Northern Winter for specified dates.
Special conditions apply:
- Valid January 3 through February 13, 2009 ONLY
- Lodging and lifts must be booked via one of Copper’s preferred wholesale partners.
- Guest must stay in Copper Mountain Managed lodging units for 7 nights or longer.
- Number of days skiing will be one less than the number of nights accommodations booked.
- Guests coming directly to the ticket window without pre-reserved passes will not be issued tickets
- Not valid with any other promotion. Example: One adult season pass holder receives 1 free lift ticket to Copper Mountain. The child pass would not be free unless the child held a season pass as well.
